September 2014 Midlands Air Ambulance

Well, what a summer of fundraising it’s been! From gruelling adventures including skydives and the Three Peaks Challenge, to great fundraising parties and quizzes, you’ve all got right behind the charity and put the ‘fun’ into fundraising.

We are delighted to announce that our sporting ambassador, ten times Paralympic gold medallist, Lee Pearson MBE OBE CBE, will be our speaker at our forthcoming Business Networking Event in October. If you haven’t booked your place, I suggest you do sooner rather than later as Lee’s speech on ‘The Road To Success’ is certainly worth listening to.

Also, this month marks the second annual ‘National Air Ambulance Week’ (starting on Monday 22nd September) and I hope you and your teams will join me in taking part in the campaign. All you have to do is upload a video of yourself saying ‘I support Midlands Air Ambulance, do you?’ to Facebook with the hashtag #NAAW2014 and nominate friends and colleagues to do the same. Please encourage them to donate by texting MAAC00 £5 to 70070 and the most important rule is to have fun with it, so the funnier your video the better!

In the meantime, if I can be of any assistance with your fundraising or CSR activities, please do get in touch. You can email me via sofia.voutianitis@midlandsairambulance.com or call on 07901 332 684.

  Did you know:

The number of medical emergencies we attend (including heart attacks and strokes) is continuing to rise, making up about 22 per cent of the total number of missions we undertake.

From 1st October we will continue our summer operational hours (between 7am and 9pm), meaning for the first time in our history we will be flying between lit helipads in the hours of darkness.

We are currently the most liked air ambulance on Facebook, with over 42,000 likes. If you haven’t already, find us on Facebook and connect with us on LinkedIn.
